Woman rushed to hospital after horror road collision
A woman was rushed to hospital in Dublin after she was seriously injured in a road collision in neighbouring county Carlow.
The two vehicle collision, involving a car and truck, occurred at approximately 3pm yesterday at the junction of the L1003 and L403 at Ballybannon.
The driver, a woman in her 40s and a passenger, a female teenager, from the car were taken to Beaumont and Mater Misericordiae Hospitals in Dublin with serious injuries. The driver of the truck was unharmed.
The road was temporarily closed and local diversions were put in place as a technical examination of the scene was carried out.
A local Garda spokesperson said: “Gardaí are appealing to any person who may have witnessed this collision to contact them. Any road users who were travelling who has camera (including dash cam) footage, is asked to make this available to Gardaí.
