Kilkenny councillor dusts off the guitar to join talented line-up for free fundraiser tonight

THE Set Theatre in Langton’s House Hotel will play host to a special free fundraising gig tonight to raise much-needed funds for local man John Holmes (pictured above).

So far more than €50,000 has been raised locally as part of the John Needs Pembro campaign, which has enabled Mr Holmes to have 10 life-changing injections as the battle for the Kilkenny man to be given free access to the drug continues.

Tonight’s event kicks off at 9pm and features a very interesting line-up, including poll-topping city councillor Andrew McGuinness, who’ll be dusting of his guitar to entertain the crowd for a very good cause.

And Andrew will be in very good company on stage tonight: he’ll be joined by Miami Showband legend John Travers, along with a talented line-up that includes, Richie Prendergast, John Joe Cullen, Lizzy Mc Parlan, PJ Norton, Alison Hayes Kealy, John and Mary Hennessey, Eddie Cod and Tom Brazil

Admission is free. There’ll also be a raffle for spot prizes and a special draw for pre-booked tickets.
