Man (45) passes away while on expedition with Kilkenny club

A man has died suddenly while away on an expedition with a Kilkenny organisation.

Martin ‘Murt’ Flynn from Tullow, county Carlow was part of the Kilkenny Sub Aqua Club’s diving expedition in Sharm El Sheikh in Egypt.

Mr Flynn passed away yesterday evening following a short illness.

His family, who run Flynn’s Foodhall in Tullow, took to their Facebook page last night to announce the sudden passing of the adventurous 45-year-old.

The poignant tribute said: “Murt had been having the time of his life on a diving trip with Kilkenny Sub Aqua Club when he suddenly took ill. We thank everyone for their kind words and prayers over the last few days.”
