WIT gets some ‘HELP’ from the Beatles to explain ‘A day in the life’ of music students

Waterford Institute of Technology (WIT) are asking prospective Kilkenny students to “Come Together” on a “Magical Mystery Tour” of its wide-ranging music degree course.

Staff and students from the music programme are putting together three workshops this week they hope will “please, please” you and give an idea what “a day in the life” of a music student in WIT is.

They will perform music ranging from the Beatles to classical,  jazz and Irish trad. The WIT Jazz ensemble and Chamber Choir will be on hand to bring it all to life, and attendees will even get a chance to try it out for themselves.

Head of the music course, Dr Hazel Farrell said: “We value the opportunity to meet with second level students and to introduce them to the Department of Creative and Performing Arts, and the BA (Hons) in Music students and staff.”

The event takes place this Thursday, November 14, in WIT and starts at 10am. For more information visit www.music@wit.ie.
