WEATHER FORECAST: Hold onto your hat! Kilkenny’s in for wet and windy few days
It’s looking like a week of unsettled and contrasting weather for Kilkenny, according to Met Éireann.
The national forecaster is predicting both unseasonably warm and quite cold weather, as well as very windy and wet conditions interspersed with sunny spells.
Today is going to start wet and windy. Met Éireann has issued a high wind warning for both Wexford and Waterford this morning with winds up to 100kph, so Kilkenny is unlikely to escape without a few hairs out of place.
It’s going to be wet and mild also, with temperatures expected to reach highs of between 11C or 12C.
There will be no let-up in the rain and tomorrow is looking pretty wet too, albeit with unseasonably warm temperatures of up to 15C.
The heavy rain will begin to ease by Wednesday, but intermittent heavy showers will remain. It will be much cooler with temperatures falling back to single figures – around 8C or 9C.
But the wet weather won’t stay away for long and Thursday is likely to be wet and cloudy, according to Met Éireann.
The wet weather should finally break on Friday, but it will bring much colder conditions. There will be a bit of sun around, but it will be very cool with temperatures of between 4C or 5C.
