Masked thieves spotted fleeing the scene after breaking into home in Kilkenny city

Gardai are hunting for a gang of four thieves who broke into a house in Kilkenny city and ransacked the property.

The break-in occurred at the house in Springfield on the Waterford Road at around 9pm on Saturday.

Four men, believed to be in their late teens to early 20s, were seen running from the scene with hoods and scarves covering their faces.

A local Garda spokesperson confirmed: “The suspects cut a lock on the side gate and gained entry by breaking a patio door. Two upstairs rooms were ransacked, it is not yet known what was taken.”

Garda are investigating the break-in. They have urged witnesses or anyone who noticed any suspicious activity in the area at the time to contact Kilkenny Garda Station on 056 777 5000.
