Man appears in court in relation to €25,000 heist on Kilkenny store

A 31-year old man has appeared in court in relation to burglary where €25,000 worth of tech goods were stolen from a Kilkenny store.

The man was arrested yesterday in Mullingar, county Westmeath in connection with the burglary at the DID Electrical store in the Kilkenny Retail Park at Smithlands on the Ring Road, in the early hours of Friday, February 28.

€25,000 worth of phones, smartwatches and TVs were taken during the well planned burglary in which the culprits cut the locks off the back entrance to gain access to the store.

The man was brought to Kilkenny Garda Station following his arrest and was questioned overnight. He was then charged in relation to the robbery and was brought to Carlow District Court today where he was due to answere charges in relation to the burglary.
