SPONSORED: Cully Cottage, the perfect place to escape – to live, work and holiday in lovely Leitrim
Ireland is opening up and people are getting out and about again. Families are looking for safe locations where they can enjoy the pleasures of a happy, healthy holiday.
Friends who have not met up for months want a place where they can get together and enjoy good company in a great setting.
Cully Cottage has the answer for both groups. It is a beautiful whitewashed cottage set in spacious gardens near the little town of Ballinamore in one of the loveliest parts of lovely Leitrim.
The three-bedroom traditionally built cottage sleeps up to seven people in high quality accommodation which comes with all modern convenience.
It is perfect for a family holiday. The pretty garden has a swing, slide, sandpit, trampoline and outdoor board games. There’s a barbecue on site to be enjoyed on summer evenings. There are hammocks and swings and grounds to explore.
Cully Cottage is also a great place for friends to get together, for couples looking for an idyllic breakaway spot and also for small, corporate groups.
“We’ve had a number of clients stay at Cully Cottage as a break from the office where they have time to make plans without the distraction of the daily routine,” explains Priscilla Grainger.
The Grainger family, who have ties with Leitrim going back many years, lovingly restored the cottage and equipped it with all the facilities needed to enjoy a self-catering holiday, including a modern kitchen, dining area, outdoor patio area and a truly stunning conservatory.
Cully Cottage, with its abundance of space and picture-postcard surrounding, it also the perfect answer for couples or families looking to live and work remotely over the coming months, and there are very affordable rates available for long-term lets.
Despite its relatively remote location, the cottage has its own wi-fi and would be an ideal option for people looking for a better work-life balance and standing of living outside of our main cities and urban areas.
As Priscilla puts it: “We’re living in different times these days, where having lots of space – together with the right technology and conditions – is becoming more and more attractive to people looking to live and work in a better environment. Cully Cottage can provide all these at a very reasonable rate.”
Cully Cottage is on an elevated site, four miles from Ballinamore, a friendly town well served by shops, pubs and hotels. Nearby there is horse riding and fishing on the celebrated Garadice lake. You can cruise the Shannon and picnic at some of the area’s wonderful locations, like Glencar Waterfall.
Ballinamore is surrounded by culture and history. The Glenview Museum, which houses the memorabilia of the great Leitrim writer John McGahern, is nearby.
A short drive will take you to the fairy mounds that inspired Carolan to write Sí beag agus Sí Mór. A brief detour will take you into Sligo where “under bare Ben Bulben’s head, in Drumcliff churchyard Yeats is laid”.
The romantic past comes to life in beautiful Leitrim and Cully Cottage is the perfect base from which to enjoy it. The cottage is easy to reach and there is ample parking.
