WEATHER FORECAST: Kilkenny feels the heat as 20C forecast for week ahead
Kilkenny is set to experience a rather muggy week, with temperatures of around 20 degrees each day.
But it won’t be quite beach weather, with cloudy conditions forecast along with a chance of rain or drizzle for much of the week.
Met Éireann said today will be mainly dry with good sunny spells. A few passing showers will develop during the afternoon and evening, although these will mainly be in Connacht, Ulster and south Munster. Highest temperatures of 14 to 20 degrees.
The south and east will enjoy dry sunny spells tomorrow, escaping the cloud and patchy drizzle forecast in the north and west, with the mercury rising to as high as 21 degrees at time.
And it’s a similar story for the rest of the week, with Wednesday and Friday looking to be the best days.
The national forecaster said: “A lot of dry weather early in the week with sunny spells. Becoming rather cloudy and humid from midweek, with patchy drizzle at times, especially in the west and north.
“A few bright spells in the east, but mostly cloudy overall on Wednesday. Patchy drizzle in the west and north edging a little further eastwards through the day. Mild, with highs of 17 to 22 degrees, in a light to moderate southwest breeze.
“Rather cloudy again on Friday. Largely dry early in the day with rain moving in from the southwest later. Another mild, humid day with highs of 18 to 22 degrees.”
