Ruff justice for Ben’s adopted Garda carer as he’s reunited with owner in Kilkenny

A beautiful German Shepherd dog that was found by members of the Defence Forces looking lost on the outskirts of Kilkenny city has been reunited with his relieved owner.

‘Ben’ was an instant hit with local gardai who cared for him at Kilkenny Garda Station while thunderstorms raged over the city last night and this morning. A local Garda spokesperson said members of Unit B were “fighting to look after him” before Sergeant Burke (pictured below with Ben) was eventually nominated as his new adopted carer.

Sergeant Burke’s new pet parental duties didn’t last long, however, and gardai this evening confirmed Ben’s owner had been located.
