Heroin seized during Garda operation in county Kilkenny town

KGardai seized €1,000 worth of heroin during a planned operation in Callan over the weekend.

A local Garda spokesperson said the operation by the Divisional Drugs Unit was “aimed at disrupting the availability of heroin in rural communities”.

The spokesperson confirmed the raid resulted in “approximately €1000 worth of heroin being seized in the Callan area”.

Kilkenny gardai said anyone who wished to report suspected drug dealing in their community can contact their dedicated drugs hotline number 087 790 4885.
