Garda probe as car parked in driveway of house in Ferrybank bursts into flames
A car parked in the driveway of a house in Ferrybank burst into flames overnight.
The incident occurred directly outside a property in Ard Daire.
Footage circulating on social media this morning showed gardai and emergency services at the scene. Loud bangs could be heard echoing through neighbouring estates.
The blaze was entinguished and nobody was hurt in the incident. The burnt out remains of the vehicle remained at the scene this morning.
Gardai confirmed the cause of the blaze is being investigated.
A Garda spokesperson told KilkennyNow.ie this morning: “Gardaí and emergency services attended an incident of criminal damage which occurred in the Ferrybank area, Waterford on the 1st September 2020 at approximately 1:00am. A vehicle was discovered on fire.
“No injuries reported. No arrests have been made. Investigations are ongoing.”
