KILKENNY WEATHER: Last of the Indian Summer as temperatures plummet by 10C

Kilkenny will enjoy just one more day of our beautiful Indian Summer before temperatures take a dramatic 10 degree drop over the next week

Met Éireann said it will turn unsettled from tomorrow onwards, with rain or showers and much cooler conditions.

It will be a foggy start in many areas today but sunny spells are expected to develop during the course of the day, with temperatures ranging between 15 and 21 degrees.

But Tuesday will be unsettled as a band of persistent rain will move into western areas in the afternoon, spreading eastwards during the day.

Met Éireann said: “A cool and unsettled day with showers becoming widespread through the afternoon. Highest temperatures of 11 to 13 degrees.

“Further showers or longer spells of rain will affect mainly western parts of the country on Wednesday.

“Cool during the days with temperatures below average for the time of year.”

Wednesday night will be cold with temperatures of just 2 to 6 degrees “with grass frost possible”.

The national forecaster said the rest of the week is likely to remain rather unsettled with further rain and showers, adding: “Cool during the days with temperatures below average for the time of year.”
