Drugs dope busted after Kilkenny canine cop helps sniff out his stash

A LOCAL drug dope got a taste of ruff justice after a Kilkenny canine cop helped to sniff out his stash.

The man was arrested in the city following a recent planned search by local detectives working together with members of the Kilkenny Drugs Unit and the Garda Dogs Unit.

They seized €1,950 worth of cannabis which was found on the property.

A 45-year-old male was arrested. He was taken to Kilkenny Garda Station for questioning.

A Garda source told KilkennyNow.ie a file on the matter is now being prepared for the Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP).
