Banned motorist and rogue L-driver nabbed by gardai policing lockdown in Kilkenny
A disqualified motorist and another learner driver who was caught driving dangerously in defiance of the lockdown both had their vehicles seized after they were stopped by gardai in Kilkenny.
Meanwhile another disqualified driver was also nabbed in neighbouring Carlow by gardai on Covid patrol last night.
However, these incidents proved to the exception as local gardai reported that “Kilkenny and Carlow fell silent last night”.
A Garda spokesperson said: “Thank you to everyone for adhering to the Government restrictions. It didnt stop local gardaí stopping two disqualified drivers in Kilkenny and Carlow (with assistance of Garda Mobility device) and also intercepting a learner permit holder driving dangerously in the City last night. His vehicle was also seized under the Clancy Amendment where he wasn’t accompanied by a fully licensed driver.”
