Front door of Kilkenny house damaged in suspected break-in attempt overnight

A suspected would-be burglar caused extensive damage to the front door of a house in Kilkenny.

The incident occurred in the St Patrick’s Close area of the city overnight between last Tuesday night and Wednesday morning.

Local gardai confirmed nothing was taken from the property, which was vacant at the time, and that everything inside the house was “intact”.

A Garda spokesperson told KilkennyNow.ie it appears an attempt was made to gain entry to the house through the front door, which was damaged as a result.

Gardai have asked anyone who may have witnessed any suspicious activity in the area at the time to contact Kilkenny Garda Station on 056 777 5000.
