Hundreds of Kilkenny businesses awarded €655,000 to make the switch online

More than €650,000 was allocated to Kilkenny businesses under the 2020 Trading Online Voucher Scheme to help their online presence.

282 businesses in Kilkenny were awarded up to €2,500 each from the scheme, out of 302 businesses that applied for funding.

The Scheme, which is run by Local Enterprise Offices provides allocates grants of up €2,500 to small businesses to trade online and improve their online presence all in an effort to boost sales in while trading during the Covid-19 pandemic.

In total, €655,600 was awarded to the 282 successful Kilkenny businesses, averaging at €2,324.85 per business.

Businesses that were successful in obtaining grant funding in 2020 may still apply for the grant in 2021, as the government made changes to the scheme last year allowing for upgrades to websites or online sales areas, to keep in line with changing developments.
