Kilkenny motorist who posted dangerous driving videos on social media arrested

A novice driver who posted videos of himself driving dangerously on social media has been taken off the road.

Gardai in the south of the county had been made aware of a number of incidents of reckless driving in the area in recent days. Some of the incidents were posted online on Snapchat.

In one incident, the driver performed a dangerous overtaking maneuver on another vehicle at high speed on one of the county’s regional roads.

Gardaí were subsequently able to identify the individual. He was arrested and charged with driving offences.

The suspect is due to appear before an upcoming sitting of Waterford District Court.
