LATEST: Kilkenny among 525 new cases of virus as three further deaths confirmed

A further three people have died after contracting the coronavirus as 525 new cases of Covid-19 were confirmed this evening.

The overall death toll as a result of the virus has now reached 4,422. It brings to 223,219 the total number of confirmed cases of Covid-19 across the country, according to the latest daily briefing from the National Public Health Emergency Team (NPHET).

The breakdown of the latest cases is as follows: 214 are in Dublin, 37 in Meath, 28 in Offaly, 28 in Limerick and 25 in Wicklow with the remaining 193 cases spread across 19 other counties, including five further infections in Kilkenny.
