Child (3) dies after being knocked down by bus in Carrick-on-Suir
A three-year old girl has died after being knocked down by a bus in a housing estate in Carrick-on-Suir this afternoon.
The accident happened in Castle Heights in Carrickbeg at 4.30pm.
Gardai, ambulances and an emergency helicopter attended the scene.
The girl was pronounced dead a short time later.
The scene has been preserved for a forensic examination and the incident is being treated as a tragedy.
Gardai in Carrick-on-Suir are appealing for any witnesses to the tragic accident to contact them.
