LATEST: Kilkenny among 431 new cases of virus as 12 new deaths confirmed
A further 12 people have died after contracting theb coronavirus as 431 new cases of Covid-19 were confirmed this evening.
Kilkenny recorded its highest daily figure in more than two weeks, as five new cases were reported overnight.
The overall death toll as a result of the virus has now reached 4,812. There have now been 242,105 confirmed cases of Covid-19 across the country, according to the latest daily briefing from the National Public Health Emergency Team (NPHET).
The breakdown of the latest cases is as follows: 160 in Dublin, 50 in Kildare, 34 in Donegal, 21 in Meath, 20 in Limerick and the remaining 146 cases are spread across 20 other counties. Five new cases of the virus were recorded in Kilkenny.
