Motorists clocked speeding through Kilkenny residential areas up to 40kph over limit
Four motorists were clocked speeding in residential areas of county Kilkenny last night.
The four were all caught doing between 74kph and 89kph at two locations in Kilkenny, both with 50kph speed limits.
Two cars were detected over the limit in the Bennetsbridge area. The others were caught speeding on the Castlecomer Road in Kilkenny city.
All four were caught by mobile Garda speed detecting equipment.
A local Farda spokesperson said: “50 kph zones in built-up areas are specifically aimed at protecting vulnerable road users. Get the point, not the points and arrive alive.”
All four motorists will be issued with fixed charge penalties.
