Massive search operation underway for woman (30s) missing in mountains
A huge multiagency search operation is underway close to county Kilkenny.
A woman in her 30s has been missing in the Comeragh Mountains since yesterday and was forced to spend the night somewhere in the mountain range.
The South Eastern Mountain Rescue Association (SEMRA) including members from Kilkenny are at the scene, as are the Search and Rescue Dog Association (Ireland), the rescue Helicopter and An Garda Siochána.
A spokesperson for SEMRA said: “A female walker is missing in the Comeragh mountains since yesterday.
“We would ask walkers in the Nire Valley, Rathgormack or Mahon Falls areas to keep an eye out for anything unusual and to contact the Gardai or SEMRA,” the spokeperson concluded.
