Kilkenny dancing star John Nolan and partner Mairéad step up bid to win hit TV show
KILKENNY’S dancing star John Nolan and his celebrity partner Mairéad Ronan are practicing from 7am every morning as they step up their bid to be crowned winners of the hit RTÉ show.
Young mother Mairéad, who has three children – Dara (11), Eliza (2) and Bonnie (five months) – has also heaped praise on her Kilkenny dance partner for accommodating her hectic family life.
She said: “John has been brilliant. We start at seven in the morning and finish at three o’clock most days so I can get home to be with the kids.”
John and Mairéad have emerged as one of the bookies’ favourites to win this year’s Dancing With The Stars.
The duo had their odds slashed to 3/1 after topping the scoring charts in week five of the hit TV show last Saturday night.
It’s an impressive achievement for Mairéad, who never had a dance lesson before she entered the show. “My first dance lesson was with John in December,” she said.
Dancing with Stars returns to RTÉ One on Sunday at 6.30pm for Switch-Up Week where each celebrity will dance with a different professional as voted for by the public.
