WEATHER FORECAST: Enjoy sun while it lasts – Kilkenny braced for return of unsettled conditions

Kilkenny’s in for yet another change in conditions as a return of unsettled weather is forecast over the coming week.

The week will start off dry. Met Éireann said tday will be “a generally dry day with spells of summer sunshine”. It added: “Isolated light showers may however affect north and northwest coasts. Highest temperatures over Leinster and Munster will range 16 to 20 degrees Celsius; cooler and fresher though across Connacht and Ulster, in a moderate northerly breeze, with highest temperatures of 13 to 17 degrees.”

Tomorrow will also be dry and bright to begin with. The national forecaster warned “cloud will build from the north through the morning and afternoon with outbreaks of rain and drizzle developing over the northern half of the country towards evening” with highest temperatures of 13 to 18 degrees.

Wednesday morning will be dull and cloudy to the day with outbreaks of rain and drizzle. Met Éireann said: “The rain and drizzle will gradually ease through the day, with dry and bright spells developing, particularly over the western half of the country. Highest temperatures of 17 to 20 degrees, possibly touching 21 degrees, in a moderate westerly breeze.”

Thursday will be a wet and cloudy day with widespread rain with highest temperatures of 14 to 18 degrees.

Meanwhile, Met Éireann said current indications suggest there will be “further showers or spells of rain at times to end the coming week and through the weekend”, but there will also be some sunny spells.
