KILKENNY WEATHER: Bright and settled conditions to take a turn for the worse
The bright and settled conditions we’ve enjoyed in recent days are set to take a turn for the worse.
In its latest forecast, Met Éireann warned Kilkenny and the rest of the country is in for “rather unsettled” weather with “blustery winds” and occasional outbreaks of rain.
A few bright spells are forecast for this corner of the country this morning, but the forecaster said “cloud will continue to increase from the west, bringing a little patchy light rain and drizzle, especially to Atlantic coastal counties”. It added: “Mild; with highest temperatures ranging 10 to 13 degrees. Becoming a little breezier through the day with southwest winds gradually increasing moderate to fresh.”
It will be a windy start to tomorrow, with fresh to strong westerly winds during the morning, although winds will be strongest in northwestern and northern areas. Met Éireann said: “Cloudy to begin with scattered outbreaks of rain and drizzle. However, drier brighter weather will follow from the northwest in the afternoon as sunny spells develop. Winds will ease to a moderate northwesterly through the afternoon. Mild with highest temperatures of 10 to 13 degrees.”
Sunday will be a windy day with outbreaks of rain and drizzle forecast. Met Éireann said rain will “become heavier in the afternoon for a time, especially across the west and northwest” with highest temperatures of between 8 to 11 degrees.
The national forecaster said it will be “fresh on Monday”, with sunshine and “well scattered blustery showers” followed by milder weather on Tuesday, but with blustery falls of rain.
