An Post is going green and coming clean in Kilkenny
AS part of it’s new zero emissions policy, An Post is switching all its delivery vans and other vehicles from petrol to electric. It also intends to install solar panels on all its buildings
The Post Eco Plan is being introduced this year in Dublin and will be in operation in Kilkenny by the end of 2020. Public charging points, which can be used by all electric vehicles, are to be installed outside post offices .
An Post hopes the overall initiative will save 1,000 tonnes of carbon annually.
Minister for Communications, Climate Action and Environment, Richard Bruton (pictured above with An Post chief David Redmond), told the Dáil: “We must step up Ireland’s response to climate disruption. An Post is taking the lead and recognising the urgency of taking action in adapting to the changes that are needed.”
