It is a bird? Is it a plane? No – it’s a Castlecomer Rose!!

CASTLECOMER’S Roses showed their adventurous side as they took turns taking to the skies on Ireland’s longest zip-line yesterday.
The day started off calmly enough as the girls posed for photographs outside the pretty fairy village at the Castlecomer Discovery Park.
Then it was time for Aoife, Alice, Sinead, Amy, Jessica, Aoife and Niamh to step up to the mark – 35 metres above ground to be exact – as they zipped through the air over the park’s stunning woodland, lakes and 17th century hand-restored bridge.
Castlecomer Discovery Park is one of the sponsors of the north Kilkenny town’s first ever Rose of Tralee event.
The winning Castlecomer Rose will be crowned at a selection event in Shortall’s Bar & Lounge on Saturday, March 9.
All are welcome to attend the event, which is being organised by Breda Heary and the local Rose Committee. All funds raised go towards the local boys’ national school.
