€11m allocated for 80 road projects in county Kilkenny

Funding of €11 million has been agreed for 80 road projects in the Callan-Thomastown Municipal District.

It is part of a three-year strategy of road upgrades agreed by local councillors at the monthly meeting held earlier this week.

Electoral area Cathaoirleach, Cllr Peter ‘Chap’ Cleere, said it is hoped even more funding can be allocated for projects.

He told KCLR: “We have capacity to take more funding if we can get more from the Government, but for now we have a three-year strategy agreed which is fantastic.”
