Kilkenny GAA club unveils exciting new expansion plans
Piltown GAA club is looking to increase the size of its main playing pitch as part of new development plans.
In a planning application to the local authority, the club is seeking permission to “lengthen and widen our existing main front pitch, remove and reinstall new goal posts, remove and reinstall new ball stop nets, demolish existing dug outs and install new dugouts to enlarged pitch”.
The club also wants to install a new fence “around the perimeter of the enlarged pitch, construct a new walkway round the perimeter of the enlarged pitch” and to install “new lighting for lighting the walkway”.
It has also sought permission to construct “a sensory area and pollinator beds, remove old score board structure and install a new structure for the scoreboard, install bicycle stand and seating area, install a temporary communal shop structure, construct a new boundary wall and all other ancillary services and associated site works” at its ground in Belline, Rogerstown.
Kilkenny County Council is due to decide on the proposed development by December 19.
