WEATHER ALERT: Status Yellow rainfall warning issued for Kilkenny
By COLIN BARTLEY
HEAVY showers are expected to batter Kilkenny overnight and there is a good chance of spot flooding.
Kilkenny has been included in a Status Yellow rainfall warning that comes into effect at 7pm this evening. All of the counties in Munster and Leinster are included in the warning.
A Met Eireann forecaster said: “Heavy Rain will spread from the south Thursday evening and night. Accumulations of 25 to 40mm will occur over a relatively short time period. Spot flooding is likely.
“This warning will remain in place until 7am Friday morning.”
Temperatures are set to remain in the low 20s, so it’s expected to be humid tomorrow.
Motorists have been urged to drive carefully as the national forecaster warned there may be spot flooding and hazardous driving conditions in many areas.
