ALERT: Crime gang targetting hi-tech agricultural equipment in Kilkenny

KILKENNY farmers and farm machinery businesses have been warned to be on alert for a criminal gang that is targeting specialised agricultural equipment.

Gardai today confirmed there has been several reports of break-ins at suppliers of John Deere agricultural machinery (pictured) across the South East and the Midlands in recent weeks.

A local Garda spokesperson said: “This high-end equipment is very specialised and specific to John Deere machinery and requires specialised knowledge for installation and use.

“Gardaí are appealing to people in the farm machinery business and farming with any information in relation to these stolen products to contact their local Garda station.”
