‘Beloved mother’ – tributes paid to pensioner found dead at her home in Kilkenny city
Tributes have been paid to the pensioner who was found dead at her home in Kilkenny city-centre earlier this week.
A man in his late 20s remains in custody in relation to the death of Anne Butler (71), whose remains were discovered at her house in Maudlin Street at around 6pm on Wednesday.
In her funeral notice, her heartborken family described her as a “beloved mother” of daughter Elayne and said she will be “sadly missed by her loving daughter, mother Sheila, sisters Gerda, Margo, Paula and Miriam, brothers JJ and Michael, Elayne’s partner Gavin, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nephews, nieces, extended family, neighbours and friends”.
The funeral, in line with the Government advice regarding public gatherings in the face of the Covid-19 threat, will be private.
The family said “a celebration of Anne’s life” will be held at a later date.
