Two well-known stores in Kilkenny to close in latest retail blow for city
Two well-known stores in Kilkenny have closed with immediate effect in the latest retail blow to the city.
It comes after Dixons Carphone, the owners of Carphone Warehouse which has outlets at the MacDonagh Shopping Centre and Market Cross Shopping Centre, annoucned it is ceasing operations. Some 486 workers are being made redundant across the country.
The company’s 69 shops, and a further 12 standalone counters within other department stores, will close from today.
