Boris Johnson is the new Prime Minister of the United Kingdom
By COLIN BARTLEY
BORIS Johnson is the new UK Prime Minister.
Mr Johnson defeated opponent Jeremy Hunt in the battle for the leadership of the UK Conservative Party, in effect gaining the keys to No 10, Downing Street.
Both Johnson and Hunt ran a hardline pro-Brexit campaign, promising the UK would leave the EU on October 31st, all to attract the votes of the 160,000 Conservative Party members, who ultimately decided who succeeded Teresa May as Prime Minister.
The Tory party has seen its working majority in the House of Commons shrink to just three, including the support of the DUP.
Mr Johnson immediately faces another internal party crisis. Numerous cabinet members have resigned over the last number of days, while other Tory big hitters refusing to work for Boris Johnson.
