BREAKING: Murder investigation launched after discovery of partially dismembered body in Cork
Gardai have launched a murder investigation following the discovery of a partially dismembered body of a man in Cork.
The body was missing the head and one arm and is believed to be that of a middle-aged man. His remains were found in undergrowth in the garden of a derelict house on Boreenmanna Road in Cork city at 3pm yesterday.
Assistant State Pathologist Dr Heidi Okker visited the scene this morning. She will conduct a full post mortem examination at Cork University Hospital (CUH) this afternoon.
Gardai will give an updated briefing on the case later this evening, but a Garda source has confirmed to KilkennyNow.ie that they are now treating the case as a murder investigation.
