BREAKING: Terrified woman woken by burglar in her county Kilkenny home
A WOMAN was left shaken after a burglar broke into her county Kilkenny home in the middle of the night.
The break-in occurred at a house in Kerr’s Cross, Moneenroe, Castlecomer, in the early hours of Monday morning.
Kilkenny gardai said the owner of the house was woken by the sound of somebody “rummaging through her kitchen” at around 3.45am.
The terrified woman crept down the stairs to discover the back door was open. She didn’t see anybody and there was no evidence of any property missing.
Gardaí in Castlecomer are investigating the incident. They have urged anyone who may have noticed anyone, either on foot or in a vehicle, acting suspiciously in the area to contact them on 056 444 0650.
