Bungling burglar flees empty handed after botched break-in at home in Kilkenny town
A hapless burglar made repeated attempts to break into a home in county Kilkenny before eventually climbing in through the front widow – and then fleeing empty handed.
The attempted break-in occurred at a property in the Skehana area of Castlecomer between 7.30pm and 8.20pm last Friday.
A Local Garda spokesperson confirmed the would-be burglar maderepeated “failed attempts” to get into the house via the front door. When this failed, they then managed to gained entry through a window at the front of the property.
However, nothing was taken from the house and the burglar fled empty handed.
Gardai are investigating the break-in. They have urged eyewitnesses or anyone who may have noticed any suspicious activity in the area at the time to contact Castlecomer Garda Station on 056 444 1222.
