Burglars tried to break through front door of county Kilkenny house as owner slept

A terrifed county Kilkenny man was woken up by his house alarm after burglars tried to force open his front door in the early hours of the morning.

The attaempted break-in occurred on Monday, November 2 at a property in Ballyfoyle.

After the alarm went off, the householder went to the front door of his home and noticed tool marks around the latch.

The burglars did not manage to gain entry to the house and appear to have fled when the alarm activated.

Gardai have urged witnesses or anyone who may have witnessed any suspicious activity in the area at the time to contact Castlecomer Garda Station on 056 444 0650.
