Care home in county Kilkenny confirms one positive Covid-19 case in staff member
A residential care facility in county Kilkenny has returned a positive case for Covid-19 over the weekend, they have confirmed to KilkennyNow.ie.
The single positive case was confirmed at Mooncoin Residential Care Centre last Friday with one of its staff members, who management at the facility say had displayed no symptoms.
The staff member is now self-isolating and is doing well according to management at the centre.
Mooncoin Residential Care Centre has 100 and 78 residents at its facility.
Kieran O’Reilly, co-owner of the care centre told KilkennyNow.ie: “We were made aware of the case late on Friday evening.
“The result of the positive case came back 48 hours after testing. That staff member is now self-isolating and is well.
“The HSE have been in contact with us and we are following the guidelines,” Mr O’Reilly concluded.
