Chief suspect in Quinn director abduction dies during raid on home
The main suspect in the investigation into the abduction and violent attack on a director of Quinn Industrial Holdings has died during a police raid on his house.
The man, in his 50s, was at home in Derbyshire in the UK when the police came to search his house. It is understood he fell ill during the raid and has since died.
He was being investigated in regards the abduction and assault of Kevin Lunney in county Fermanagh last month. Mr Lunney was bundled into a car near his home, brought away to be tortured, before being dumped on the side of the road and left for dead.
This morning more than 100 gardai took part in an operation covering counties Cavan, Longford and Dublin, while members of the PSNI carried out concurrent raid in county Fermanagh.
A search was also carried out on a house in Derbyshire in England, and it was during this search the man fell ill and died.
