Class news for county Kilkenny school

A COUNTY Kilkenny school received a welcome boost this morning after it was confirmed it will get a new classroom.

Scoil Bhríde National School in Lisdowney, close to the Laois border, will get Government funding for the new facility as part of the latest round of emergency works investment, Minister of State and Kilkenny TD John Paul Phelan (pictured) announced today.

The 76-pupil school which opened in 1989, currently has three mainstream teachers, a special class teacher for autistic spectrum disorder (ASD), a shared learning support teacher, a part-time resource teacher and two special needs assistants.

A spokesperson for Minister Phelan told KilkennyNow.ie that details on the construction will be released soon.
