I am Olivia Goldrick, the proud owner of Barefoot Yoga Studio in Lucan. After a decade as a devoted student in this vibrant community, I had the joy of acquiring the studio nearly two years ago, where I also completed my yoga training. My vision has always been to foster a welcoming sanctuary for all, and I am excited to continue this mission.
In this monthly column, I will share insights and guidance on yoga, mindfulness, and personal growth, aiming to connect with our readers in Kilkenny and beyond. At Barefoot Yoga Studio, we offer a diverse array of classes, catering to the needs of everyone from beginners to seasoned practitioners. Our programmes include a comprehensive 200-hour teacher training course and specialized training for those interested in teaching yoga to children aged 3 to 13. We believe in the importance of nurturing mindfulness and confidence in the younger generation.
Finding Balance in a Busy World
As the seasons change and we prepare for the colder months, it’s an ideal time to reflect on our practices, both on and off the mat. Many of us are balancing work, family, and personal commitments, often leaving little room for self-care. This is where mindfulness comes into play. By cultivating mindfulness, we learn to be present, fostering awareness that leads to greater calm and clarity.
