Confirmed case of Covid-19 at well-known Waterford factory
A worker at a well-known factory in Waterford has been diagosed with Covid-19, it emerged this morning.
Management at the Cartamundi factory on the Cork Road, which employs 300 people, have confirmed an employee has been diagnosed with the Coronavirus.
The news first emerged in a report by WLR’s Damien Tiernan on social media this morning.
It is understood staff at Cartimundi were informed of the confirmed case of Covid-19 yesterday evening.
In a letter sent out by the HSE Public Health department, employees were told close contacts to the affected patient will be monitored daily for symptoms and have been asked to self-isolate for 14 days.
Management have not revealed how the worker contracted the virus.
