Council draws curtain on plans for new development at Kilkenny cinema
Plans for a new car park at Kilkenny newest cinema have been shot down.
Kilkenny Council Council refused permission for City Cinemas Limited to develop a temporary car park with 62 spaces at its site on Barrack Street.
City Cinemas applied for planning approval for the car park at the end of June.
In their application, the company said the proposed development would “consist of the provision of a new temporary car park for a period of up to 5 years, containing 62 no. car parking spaces; minor alterations to the existing vehicular entrances off Barrack Street; provision of signage to the southern gable elevation of 14 Barack Street; part removal of existing boundary fencing to provide pedestrian access to the adjacent cinema site; together with all associated site and ancillary works.”
However, the local authority has confirmed is has refused the application.
