Council gives boot to plans to build houses at Kilkenny shoe shop
A plan to transform a well known shop in the centre of a county Kilkenny town into family homes has been rejected by the local authority.
SFT Moore Developments Limited had made an application to Kilkenny County Council in October requesting permission to convert the site formerly known as Cook’s Shoe Shop on Urlingford’s Main Street into homes.
The application called for the retention of planning on an extension to the rear of the shop, which would undergo a change of use from commercial to residential.
SFT Moore had hoped to build two, three-bedroom family homes on the site, however these plans have been rejected by Kilkenny County Council.
