Class news as Kilkenny school gets green light for exciting expansion plans

A school in a small county Kilkenny town has been given the green light for its plans to expand.

Kilkenny County Council has approved the application from the Board of Management at Stoneyford National School to create three new classrooms.

As part of the plans, an existing 110sqm prefab on the grounds of the school will now be demolished to make way for the new building.

The 285 sqm extension will add 50% more space to the existing permanent school and bring the total building size up to 855sqm.

The mixed gender school currently caters for 110 students.
