COVID-19 UPDATE: A further 24 pass away as expert says face masks are ‘critical’
A further 24 people lost their lives from Covid-19 in the Republic of Ireland in the last 24 hours, the HSE said this evening.
The total death toll here is now 1,488 while the number of confirmed cases has now reached 23,242 after another 107 were diagnosed.
Meanwhile, NPHET discussed guidance around the use of face coverings at a meeting after immunologist Dr Luke O’Neill said the use of such coverings will be “critical” to the reopening of the country.
