COVID-19 UPDATE: Death toll rises by 14 as number of confirmed cases reaches 3,447
The death toll in the Republic of Ireland from Covid-19 has risen by 14 and the number of new cases has increased by 212 .
This brings the total of confirmed cases to 3,447 while the total number of deaths has reached 85.
Earlier today the HSE apologised due to the delay in the testing of people adding that it was doing its best to improves the times.
Meanwhile, Taoiseach Leo Varadkar explained that an international shortage of reagents needed for testing the coronavirus was causing the delay.
He added that more were expected to be made available next week.
