Crowbar-wielding thug tries to break into county Kilkenny home as family slept
A burglar attempted to break into a house in a county Kilkenny village using a crowbar while the residents were asleep inside.
The incident occurred at The Meadows, Piltown, sometime between 1am and 6am on Sunday morning.
However, the would-be thief failed to gain entry to the house. A local Garda source said the homeowner awoke to discover “jemmy marks” on the outside of his kitchen window.
Gardai in Mooncoin are investigating the incident. They have urged witnesses or anyone who may have information about the attempted break-in to call 056 895 122.
